LIAISON INTERPRETING
“Liaison” interpreting is the activity that takes place when an interpreter is required to liaise between two or more individuals who do not speak each other’s language and usually come from different cultures. The interpreter, therefore, needs the ability to speak both languages fluently and accurately. “Liaison” interpreting is a very common type interpreting and takes place in different situations ranging from very formal contexts, such as business talks between heads of state to less formal situations such as city tours, business trips and meetings, trade fairs, interviews, among others.
